E. Coli The True Story

This really irks us. Look what a fuss the government puts up about one death from E. Coli

FDA: E. coli linked to Natural Selection Foods

WASHINGTON (AP) -- s "A California natural foods company was linked Friday to a nationwide E. coli outbreak that has killed one person and sickened nearly 100 others.

Supermarkets across the country pulled spinach from shelves and consumers tossed out the leafy green.

Food and Drug Administration officials said that they had received reports of illness in 19 states.

The outbreak was traced to Natural Selection Foods, based in San Juan Bautista, California, and the company has voluntarily recalled products containing spinach.s"

And yet, how they completely ignore the hundreds of thousands of deaths each year caused by America’s #1 killer…..Medicine and doctors and hospitals!!!

("The most stunning statistic, however, is that the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year.")

Even now, your wonderful reps in Congress are considering a bill to seriously restrict your free access to supplements and vitamins.

"Use the following link to contact each senator and a copy the letter above if you wish. Click on this address to find your U.S. Senators:
http://www.senate.gov Reasons to Oppose S. 3546: It will establish mandatory adverse event reporting for dietary supplements and over-the-counter drug manufacturers. Supplements have a proven track record of safety and should not be treated as drugs. If passed, it would amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) and will mandate needless FDA regulations that will treat supplements like drugs. DSHEA 's intent was for supplements to be regulated as foods, not drugs. It will probably raise the price of supplements to consumers. If passed, this bill could destroy the availability of effective dietary supplements in the U.S. by wrongfully associating their usage with serious health events when in fact it is often the drugs and other interventions taken by the patients that actually led to the serious event. It will ensure more federal regulation on supplements and more controls being imposed on your healthcare choices. The FDA currently has in place a voluntary reporting system that is working quite well since its inception in 2003. The FDA itself has already testified that it does not need AER reporting for supplements. There are already FDA toll-free numbers and FDA Form 3500 in place for anyone to submit any drug, device, or dietary supplement that has seriously harmed anyone. Senator Durbin has pushed extremely hard for the passage of a mandatory AER bill and his term does not end until 2008. We must stop Durbin and stop him now. As stated by our lobbyist, Lee Bechtel, "The true purpose of the AER system is to empower the FDA to take supplements off the market upon the least, little hint (one single report if Durbin has his way) that "harm" has occurred, even if that report is spurious."

Can you say “Codex” kids? When this legislation arrives, and it is coming soon, you will have to beg your doctor for a prescription for Vitamin C. No kidding!!

Death by Medicine (Read this now—it may save your life!)

“This fully referenced report shows the number of people having in-hospital, adverse reactions to prescribed drugs to be 2.2 million per year. The number of unnecessary antibiotics prescribed annually for viral infections is 20 million per year. The number of unnecessary medical and surgical procedures performed annually is 7.5 million per year. The number of people exposed to unnecessary hospitalization annually is 8.9 million per year.
The most stunning statistic, however, is that the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year. It is now evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the US. (By contrast, the number of deaths attributable to heart disease in 2001 was 699,697,
while the number of deaths attributable to cancer was 553,251.5) “
